My debut novel...does it read like the back of a book yet?

Etouffee is the unique view into the lives of a family traumatized by death and bound together by their love for food, music and each other. Set in the small town of Opelousas, Louisiana, in 1949, Etouffee tracks the Broussard family a year after the death of their matriarch, Joelle Broussard. Sassy 9 year old Rozina is assigned a summer project to write about what family means to her. Her father, Tilan is a highly respected Zydeco band leader who refuses to speak of his deceased wife to anyone. The Broussard's struggle to find common ground and a space to grow past their grief.
